Bulldog Break: Untamed
2 Day / 1 Night Group Tour Itinerary
Day One
Unleash your love for the Bulldawg Nation! Take a guided tour of Athens and learn about UGA's contributions to national and international athletics. Not to be missed is the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall, a museum of UGA sports history, featuring the Heisman Trophies won by Hershel Walker and Frank Sinkwich, as well as the 1980 National Championship trophy. Group tours of the new, state-of-the-art training facility for the title-winning women's gymnastics team at Stegeman Coliseum are also available when scheduling permits.
UGA's nationally ranked Division I-A teams and first-class facilities offer nonstop sports action in Athens. Gymnastics, Baseball, and Basketball are among the many wonderful options for groups. If Tennis is your game, tour the ITA National Men's Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame with former tennis coach Dan Magill, the all-time winningest coach in the history of the sport. Be sure to check the schedules for your favorite sports at http://www.georgiadogs.com/ and plan your trip around the big event.
Your group can eat hot dogs at The Varsity, or have wings and things at Buffalo's Southwest Cafe in Beechwood, where big-screen TVs can keep you in touch with the pre-game show before the competition strikes up. After the game, celebrate a Georgia victory downtown in one of Athens' many nightspots. You'll be ready for a good night's sleep at your hotel.
Overnight in one of Athens' fine properties.
Day Two
Morning: Start the day with breakfast at Mama's Boy, known for its "Southern fun dining." Don't leave town without a keepsake from your championship tour! Stroll around Downtown and stop at one of many UGA souvenir shops in the morning before you make the trip home.
