Digital Marketing & Communications Intern

Summer and Fall 2024 positions are filled.  Look for Spring semester 2025 posting here and on Handshake in October!

Hours: 10-12 hours/week
Hybrid schedule, approximately half hours in office and half remote
One position filled each semester
$13.96 per hour

Seeking Athens' biggest fans to apply to promote the city to visitors. Visit Athens is the official tourism marketing organization for Athens-Clarke County and is searching for a Digital Marketing & Communications intern.

This multi-faceted internship will provide real-world experience with B2C use of social media and email marketing, as well as creating owned content such as blog articles. All blog articles and press releases authored will include the student's byline-- great opportunity to develop a professional portfolio!

Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in any press visits scheduled during the internship period.

Visit Athens markets Athens as a destination for leisure travel, meetings & conventions. We play a key role in economic development, as we draw visitor dollars to a wide segment of local businesses.

Restaurant Week Event Planning Intern

Summer 2024 position is filled. Look for the 2025 posting here and on Handshake in February-March of 2025!

Hours: 15-20 hours/week
$13.96 per hour

Athens Restaurant Week is returning this July!  Visit Athens, the official tourism marketing organization for Athens-Clarke County, collaborates with participating restaurants to organize and promote this event.

The intern will assist the CVB's marketing & communications team with activating this community-wide event, including:

  • Recruiting restaurants to participate (at no cost to the restaurant).
  • Obtaining restaurant week menus and photo-video assets from participants.
  • Ensuring that all information and assets from participating restaurants is accurately and completely reflected in a CRM database for display on the front-facing event website.
  • Assisting with development of promotional materials.
  • Assisting with social media leading up to and during the event.
  • Assisting with media relations to secure coverage of the event.

 

Seeking a reliable self-starter with great attention to detail and creative flair. This internship is a great opportunity for students interested in event planning and management in addition to marketing and content creation.
